Q: What was your reason for contacting a builder initially?
A: The reason we needed to contact a builder in the first place was to investigate the likely cost of extending an existing dwelling to incorporate a self-contained, two-bedroomed unit which needed to be of similar outward appearance in order to compliment the aspect of the existing building. Q: How did you find about TDG Building?
A: The original building was one of two that were built on the 5 acre plot, and there was a relationship between the main builder of those two dwellings and the owner of TDG Building, Troy Gruden. Troy was involved in many aspects of those constructions, and when it became apparent that we were considering the extension, he was recommended. Q: Can you tell us what you wanted TDG Building to do?
A: We wanted our chosen building contractor to be responsible for the whole project from start to finish, arranging and supervising sub-contracting where appropriate and assisting with the resolution of the many "other problems" of a non-building nature that always arise from such a project. Q: Why did you decide to go ahead with TDG Building?
A: With all such projects you need to vet quotations in order to make your choice. We had other builders give us quotations in their various formats but that from TDG Building was professionally and concisely produced to the extent that it appeared to be extremely comprehensive. More importantly it was competitive and gave the impression that, here was a concern who wanted to take on a challenging contract and wanted to win it. Mr & Mrs Sinnett, Erina Heights.

Q: Can you tell us about the project as it progressed?
A: I suppose we put some pressure on the builder as we hoped for completion by a date in the future. But progress was thwarted initially by our own lack of experience with regard to all the necessary requirements, especially in these days of more and more legislation and red tape. But everything was eventually resolved and the project got under way late, leaving the completion schedule almost "non obtainable". But we didn't take into consideration the fervour with which TDG was prepared to commit themselves. In the end, the project was completed by the date discussed and this is a tribute to TDG and their chosen sub-contractors. Mr & Mrs Sinnett, Erina Heights.

Q: What aspect of the project stands out for you?
A: Apart from the way in which hold-ups were negated and delays caught up as referred to elsewhere, one thing (of many) stands out in my mind. Regularly, Troy would meet us at the end of the day and tell us which jobs were being done the next day and which sub- contractors would be in attendance. We were always aware of who were there and what the job was that they were doing. To summarise, the smoothness with which the project progressed was, I have to admit, more than I expected. Q: What you would say to others about TDG Building?
A: From my experience and, considering this was one of TDG Building's most adventurous contracts, I have to say that I was impressed throughout it's progress. TDG Building has done two jobs for us. Each job was completed within one day and the workmanship was excellent. In total TDG installed four large upstairs windows, three of which required removal of existing solid panes of glass; and one that required a wall to be opened along its entire length and new supports installed. They also built and installed awnings for each of the new windows. The whole process was completed professionally. Firm times were made for quotes and Troy always arrived on time. At the time of the quote, a rough timetable was sketched out and later confirmed once the quote was accepted. All work was carried out on the promised days. Designing for my new kitchen was anything but easy. Choosing a kitchen company had its many concerns, but having done that, I was recommended by that company to Troy Gruden to undertake the complicated building work before the kitchen could even be measured. The new kitchen required demolition of a load-bearing wall and relocating a 6 metre long wall.
